Event Layout Settings

We just released the ability to customize the layout for your events by hiding the tabs that are not needed for each event.

The layout settings for an event can be changed using the [Event Layout Settings] tab (under the extended menu of the event page tab strip)

For example, for virtual events, you may want to hide the Booth, Travel, Assets, and Shipments tabs.

Event Layout Settings

The changes you make to Layout Settings of an event are applied to that event only; they will not affect other events in your Workspace.

The tabs that you hide for an event will be hidden for all users in your Workspace (not just for you).

Pro-tip: When you copy/duplicate an event, the Layout Settings for the event will also get copied over to the new event. So, for future events that require a similar layout, you can simply make a copy of an event with the desired layout.

Note: This feature is only available to ExhibitDay Workspaces that are subscribed to the Premium plan. Customizations to event fields (for all events), can be made under Workspace Settings. For more information about Custom Event Fields, please see this blog post.

Planning Virtual Events

While some trade shows are postponed or canceled indefinitely in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, others are going digital. With the ubiquity of the Internet and availability of online connectivity tools, Virtual Events have quickly become the Event Industry’s primary response to the pandemic.

We are all in this together; and, as always: The Show Must Go On…

We just released the ability to tag your Events in ExhibitDay as In-Person or Virtual.

Adding Virtual Events

When adding a new event, you can now choose the format of the event (In-Person or Virtual).

Add a Virtual Event

Tagging Existing Events as Virtual

You can change the format of your existing events in ExhibitDay using the new Event Format Drop-down (top-right corner of the event page).

The Activity Feed

We are excited to announce the release of the Activity Feed module in ExhibitDay.

You can now view recent activity in your ExhibitDay Workspace using the new Activity Feed page.

User Activity Feed

You can Like or Comment on any activity in your feed. By default, when you comment on an activity, the Activity Principal (person who initiated the activity) gets an email notification about your comment; they can then, in return, respond to your comment on the activity. Other users who Liked or Commented on the same activity will receive an email notification as well.

Privacy / Access Control

Like all other data in your ExhibitDay Workspace, the Activity Feed is not publicly available (it is only available to users in your ExhibitDay Workspace).

Restricting Content on the Activity Feed

The content on the Activity Feed can be restricted for a given user to include only the activity for that user. This restriction can be enabled under: Workspace Settings > Users & Permissions.

Disabling the Activity Feed

If you wish to disable the Activity Feed for your Workspace all-together, it can be done under your Workspace Settings.

Tagging Users as Contributors of Tasks, plus, other Enhancements

We just released the following ExhibitDay enhancements.

Task Contributors

You can now tag users as ‘Contributors’ of a task in ExhibitDay. Contributors are members of your team who are in some capacity involved in (or interested in following) a task. By default, tagged Contributors get email notifications when important updates are made to a task they are tagged in (e.g. when the task gets marked as completed or when a comment gets added).

New Email Notifications for Tagged Users

Users that are tagged as Attendees of an event, or tagged in travel reservations and scheduled Playbook items, now get email notifications once they have been tagged. Like all other ExhibitDay notifications, these new notifications can be configured (enabled/disabled) under My Profile & Preferences > Email Preferences.

Exporting the Events Page

You can now export the view on the main events page to a spreadsheet (.csv format).

Note: The export function is available to ExhibitDay Workspaces that are on the Premium plan.
