ExhibitDay News and Resources for Event Professionals
Category: Exhibit Management
ExhibitDay is the all-in-one solution to track and manage your exhibits. Your trade shows, exhibit booths, travel plans, shipments, event sponsorships, and budgets– all managed in one place.
We just released the ability to add tags to your events in ExhibitDay.
Tagging Events
Tags are keywords or phrases that can be added to your events in order to classify each event. For example, you can tag an event with the name of the division in your organization that the event belongs to. Or, you can tag each event with its corresponding industry or geographical region. In other words, tags can be used as a classification/grouping mechanism for your events — however way you see fit…
Tags can be added to each event from the event view page.
Filtering Your Events by Tag
On the main Events page, you can see all the tags for each event. The new tag filter can be used to filter down the list of events by any number of tags.
We are excited to announce the release of the Activity Feed module in ExhibitDay.
You can now view recent activity in your ExhibitDay Workspace using the new Activity Feed page.
You can Like or Comment on any activity in your feed. By default, when you comment on an activity, the Activity Principal (person who initiated the activity) gets an email notification about your comment; they can then, in return, respond to your comment on the activity. Other users who Liked or Commented on the same activity will receive an email notification as well.
Privacy / Access Control
Like all other data in your ExhibitDay Workspace, the Activity Feed is not publicly available (it is only available to users in your ExhibitDay Workspace).
Restricting Content on the Activity Feed
The content on the Activity Feed can be restricted for a given user to include only the activity for that user. This restriction can be enabled under: Workspace Settings > Users & Permissions.
Disabling the Activity Feed
If you wish to disable the Activity Feed for your Workspace all-together, it can be done under your Workspace Settings.
We just released the following ExhibitDay enhancements.
Task Contributors
You can now tag users as ‘Contributors’ of a task in ExhibitDay. Contributors are members of your team who are in some capacity involved in (or interested in following) a task. By default, tagged Contributors get email notifications when important updates are made to a task they are tagged in (e.g. when the task gets marked as completed or when a comment gets added).
New Email Notifications for Tagged Users
Users that are tagged as Attendees of an event, or tagged in travel reservations and scheduled Playbook items, now get email notifications once they have been tagged. Like all other ExhibitDay notifications, these new notifications can be configured (enabled/disabled) under My Profile& Preferences > Email Preferences.
Exporting the Events Page
You can now export the view on the main events page to a spreadsheet (.csv format).
Note: The export function is available to ExhibitDay Workspaces that are on the Premium plan.
We just released the following ExhibitDay enhancements.
Event Star Ratings
Some events are worth going back to year-after-year; others are not. Some events yield favorable ROI; others do not!
Whatever your team’s take on a given event may be, it can now get reflected in ExhibitDay using the new Star Rating system.
To rate an event, go to the event page and use the stars (at the top right of the screen) to specify a rating (0-3 stars).
On the main Events page, you’ll see each event’s rating next to its name. You can use the events filter (top right corner of the page) to filter out events based on their Star Ratings.
Events Page: Annual Grouping
You can now view a list of your events by year. When viewing your events in List View or Detail View, use the extended menu on top of the Events page tab strip to see an annual grouping of your events.
Events Tab Drop-down
When you are on the main events page or viewing a specific event, you’ll notice a new drop-down menu next to the top Events tab. You can use this drop-down menu as a shortcut for adding a new event, or, seeing a list of your 3 most-recently-viewed events.
We recently made the following Enhancements to ExhibitDay:
User Content Restrictions (for Team Members and Guests)
You can now restrict access to content for Team Members and Guests in your ExhibitDay Workspace. The following content restrictions are available:
Ability to restrict Team Members and Guests to only have access to their own Events — Events that the user either created, or they are tagged in (as an attendee, or assignee of a task, or travel reservation, etc.).
Ability to restrict access for Team Members and Guests to only have access to their own Travel Reservations (i.e. the Travel Reservations they are tagged in).
Ability to restrict access for Team Members and Guests to only have access to their own Playbook items (i.e. the scheduled items in the Event Playbook that they are tagged in).
To manage Content Restrictions for a Team Member or a Guest, go to Team Workspace > Users & Permissions; then, click on the Team Member or Guest you’d like to edit. Towards the end of the screen (right after the Permissions section), you’ll see the new “Content Restrictions” section where you can manage the user’s restrictions.
Asset Search
You can now search for Assets by name (under the [Manage Assets] tab). To find an asset, use the search box on the main Assets page, or, use the “Search Assets” link under the [Manage Assets] tab’s dropdown menu.
Storage Areas
To help identify where things are typically stored, you can now specify “Storage Areas” (areas inside storage locations where assets are typically kept– e.g. “Aisle 1, Bin 3” ). An asset’s Storage Area can be entered by editing the Asset Info (using the [Edit Asset] link on the Asset view page).
Storage Location Point of Contact
You can now assign a Point of Contact (e.g. a Warehouse Manager, or, an Inventory Administrator) to each Storage Location.
Asset Image Zoom
When viewing your assets, if find the images to be a bit too tiny, you can now use the Image Zoom slider to enlarge the images.
