The Event Id (EID) is an auto-generated, 8-digit unique number for each event in your ExhibitDay workspace. By default, event IDs are not displayed in ExhibitDay — they are just kept in our backend systems while the front-end ExhibitDay magic strives to maintain a simple, clutter-free, user experience. However, in certain cases, there might be a need for you to see these Event IDs (i.e. reference them in other bookkeeping systems, etc.). If you want to make Event IDs visible in ExhibitDay, you can do so by enabling them under Workspace Settings > Display Event IDs.
Once you enable Display of Event IDs, you’ll see the Event ID listed next to each event in the main Events page; you’ll also see the Event ID on the individual event pages.
Pro-tip: in the Event Search window you can search for events by their 8-digit Event Id (EID).
We just released the ability to view the profile of users and resources in your ExhibitDay workspace.
Viewing the Profile of a User or a Resource
You can view the profile of a user or a resource in your ExhibitDay workspace by clicking on their profile image (anywhere you see their profile image in ExhibitDay). The user profile pop-up dialog displays contact information (i.e. email, phone number, title) for the user/resource. The profile dialog also shows the events that the user is tagged in, as well as the user’s recent activity and logs. Additionally, for each event the user/resource is tagged in, you can view the nature of their involvement in the event.
Editing the Contact Information for Users
A user’s Name, Email, Phone Number, Company, and Title can be edited under Workspace Settings > Users & Permissions. This information can also be edited by the user himself/herself when they log into their ExhibitDay Account (under My Profile & Preferences section).
As a workspace Administrator, you can add additional notes about the user (e.g. their frequent flyer number, or seat preference) when you edit the user (under Workspace Settings > Users & Permissions). The Admin Notes field will be displayed in the user’s profile pop-up dialog; this field is only visible to Admin users in your ExhibitDay workspace.
Editing the Contact Information for Resources
A Resource is a “non-user” in your ExhibitDay workspace (i.e. no ExhibitDay account / no access to your Events). Essentially, they are people who participate in your trade shows and exhibits, but don’t have the need to log into your ExhibitDay workspace; like: speakers, independent sales personnel, contractors, specialists, and temporary staff.
As a workspace Administrator, you can edit the contact information (Name, Company, Title, Email, and Phone Number), for all the resources in your ExhibitDay workspace under Workspace Settings > Users & Permissions.
We just released the ability to copy/duplicate tasks in ExhibitDay.
Copying / Duplicating a Task
Sometimes it might just be easier to create a new task by duplicating an existing task. If you have a task in ExhibitDay that you want to copy, you can use the new [Duplicate]button on the task edit form to make a copy of the task.
Pro-tip: you can also duplicate a task using the “Duplicate this Task” link on the task Context Menu (when you right-click on a task).
Note: If you want to copy all the tasks from one event to a new event, you can use the Event Copy feature (with the Copy Tasks option checked). For more information about copying events, please read this blog post.
We just released the new Context Menu for tasks in ExhibitDay.
The Task Context Menu
You can open the task Context Menu by right-clicking anywhere on a task (or, ctrl-click / secondary click on an Apple/Mac device). The task Context Menu gives you quick access to the functions you need to manage your tasks. For example, you can edit a task, show/hide its details, or delete it.
Note: the task Context Menu is only available when accessing ExhibitDay using a desktop browser (it is not available on mobile/touch devices).
